New challenge looks at soundproofing for secure speech

Government offices follow rigorous guidelines to ensure any rented spaces used for its work are as secure as bespoke buildings.

In this latest challenge, HMGCC Co-Creation invites companies and academia to devise a solution that can be retrofitted in offices or other locations used for government work to enable soundproofing for secure conversations.

HMGCC Co-Creation is a pilot initiative which involves reaching out to academia and wider industry to help find solutions to national security challenges.

The challenge is looking for an innovative solution to providing acoustic dampening. The solution needs to be easy to install and flexible in how it is used.
