HMGCC welcomed at Farnborough for debut appearance at Home Office event

This month HMGCC made its first ever appearance at the Home Office’s Security and Policing event, where more than 7,000 visitors attended.

CEO George Williamson delivered a speech to crowds, giving an insight into our work with a speech entitled, ‘Inside the secret world of national security engineering’.

A further team of 15 HMGCC representatives hosted a stand at the event over three days, which was staged at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

There they welcomed visitors from organisations across government as well as in industry and policing.

The event, which was led by the Home Office’s Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC), is an opportunity to meet and network with organisations from across the law enforcement and security sectors.

George Williamson said: “We were delighted to be able to represent HMGCC for the first time at such a huge event in Farnborough.

“After saying so little about ourselves during our 86 year history, our focus for the future is very much on sharing more about who we are and what we do. This is to enable outside industry, academia and wider government to work with us more easily.

“The three days were filled with so many useful conversations and networking opportunities, enabling us to find out about the work of others. I also hope people enjoyed finding out more about the opportunities HMGCC has to offer too.”
