HMGCC Co-Creation Challenge: Cooling solutions for high-power battlefield radios

Experts are invited to take part in the latest HMGCC Co-Creation challenge to develop innovative heat dissipation solutions for high-power tactical radios used on the battlefield.

High-bandwidth radios play a vital role in secure battlefield communications, enabling the transfer of tactical data and streaming intelligence back to headquarters. However, the significant processing power required generates waste heat that can degrade equipment performance, shorten hardware lifespan, and create thermal signatures detectable by enemy sensors.

HMGCC Co-Creation is seeking compact solutions that can be retrofitted into existing software defined radio systems without adding excessive size or complexity. The challenge is open to a broad range of experts who could help keep heat emissions to a minimum while allowing high-power radios to operate for longer in the field.

This is a 12-week, funded challenge with the goal of achieving a Technology Readiness Level 5 demonstrator. Funding will be provided for time, materials, overheads and other indirect expenses for successful applicants.

This challenge is open until 6 August. To find out more see: Cooling solutions for high-power battlefield radios
